A DNA profile provides the unique identification of a person. Comparison of DNA Profiles can also be used as a basis for the identification of the person's biological relations.
easyDNA offers you the possibility of generating your own unique DNA Profile based on the analysis of 16 different genetic markers. Since this profile is unique to the individual it can be used for a number of purposes including :
- To safeguard the rightful heirs and ensure that they will inherit your estate through the exclusion of false claims on your inheritance.
- To assist in requirements for determining current or future familial relationships.
- To avoid expensive exhumations if your DNA profile may be required in the future.
- As a precaution for any possible future identification/verification requirements e.g. in cases of kidnapping, accidental death etc.
- To assure the availability of permanently stored identification records.
- To confirm the validity of the samples sent for a previous DNA relationship testing.
This DNA profiling service can be used by a wide range of individuals or organizations including:
- Large estate owners.
- Legal professionals including Notaries Public, Commissioners of Oaths and Family Lawyers.
Insurance companies.

Our DNA profiles are analysed by our ISO17025 accredited partner laboratory using state-of-the-art genetic identification system and based on the analysis of 16 different genetic markers. The results are highly accurate and reliable, and are identical to those used in DNA Forensic applications for human identification purposes. Results are available within 5-7 working days after arrival of the samples at our laboratory. Alternatively we have an Express Service Option for faster results.
We will send you a report detailing your unique 16 marker profile. A list of the genetic markers used in our testing can be viewed in our Sample DNA Test Results presented in this section.
easyDNA offers different types of DNA Profile Testing :
DNA Profile for Informative Purposes
A person requesting this test will collect his own DNA Sample through the collection the kit provided by easyDNA. The samples will be sent back to the laboratory for analysis and the DNA profile is issued. The document can be used for informative purposes but has no legal validity. The cost of the Informative DNA Profile is INR9800 for one person.
DNA Profile for Legal/Official Purposes
A DNA Profile required for Legal or Official purposes, such as to be attached to a will or else to be used for current or future identification of an individual, requires proper Chain-of-Custody procedures to be followed. In this case a special kit will be sent to the client, and sampling will have to be done by a qualified GP or official who will be responsible for verifying and handling the samples.
Once the sample is processed, easyDNA will issue a notarized copy of the DNA profile which can be stored in a secure location or deposited with your legal advisor. The cost of the Legal DNA Profile is INR15800 for one person.
DNA Profile for Comparison and Verification Purposes
easyDNA also offers the service whereby it can compare a DNA Profile from the sample submitted by the client to DNA profiles produced by another company (e.g. in a DNA Paternity Test). This can be done to verify whether the profiles submitted for the paternity test were of the correct persons.
Apart from the samples, the client will be required to send a copy of the paternity result. It is preferable to send a copy in advance to determine whether the analysis has been performed on similar loci used by easyDNA.
